“Tigers confirm signing of another Panther for 2024: He is electrifying,”

The Wests Tigers’ rebuild under Benji Marshall gains momentum as the club confirms the signing of Sunia Turuva. Turuva, described by Marshall as “electric,” has signed a three-year deal with the Tigers, ensuring his presence in the 2025, 2026, and 2027 seasons.

Turuva’s decision follows teammate Jarome Luai’s move to the Tigers next season and reunites him with former Penrith hooker Apisai Koroisau, who joined the Tigers in 2023. Marshall praised Turuva’s versatility, premiership experience, and positive energy on the field.

Although Turuva is unlikely to compete for the number one jersey currently held by Jahream Bula, he opted for the Tigers over the St George Illawarra Dragons, who also offered him a contract. Turuva is expected to fill the spot left by Junior Tupou’s departure to the Dolphins in 2024.

Despite being just 21 years old, Turuva has already made a significant impact in the NRL, scoring 21 tries in 35 appearances since his 2022 debut and earning six Test caps for Fiji.
