Geelong Midfielder Tanner Bruhn Out of Clash Against Port Adelaide

Geelong midfielder Tanner Bruhn will be absent from Friday night’s match against Port Adelaide at GMHBA Stadium due to a shoulder injury sustained during the Cats’ Round 8 loss to Melbourne. The Newtown & Chilwell product was substituted out in the third quarter following the knock.

Coach Chris Scott noted that Bruhn has made a good recovery but emphasized the team’s cautious approach. While Bruhn remains available in case of need, the decision has been made to hold him back this week to ensure his optimal condition for the following match.

Meanwhile, Brandon Parfitt and Mark O’Connor are slated to return after missing the previous week. However, young ruckman Toby Conway is sidelined with a hip flexor injury, delaying his return to the senior team.

Scott expressed disappointment over Conway’s setback, highlighting the team’s anticipation to include him in this week’s lineup. However, the coaching staff prioritizes player welfare and readiness, opting not to rush Conway’s return until he is fully primed for optimal performance.

As for Port Adelaide, the team is set to make several changes due to injury and illness, with skipper Connor Rozee among those sidelined with a hamstring issue. Jordon Sweet will also miss out due to a virus, while Jase Burgoyne and Lachie Jones are nursing injuries.
