In a surprising turn of events, 2026 offensive tackle Charlie Ward received his first Division 1 offer from Florida State on Wednesday.

Joining Ward, 2026 linebacker Adam Balogoun-Ali, a four-star prospect ranked No. 7 in his position according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, also received an offer from the Seminoles. Balogoun-Ali, hailing from North Palm Beach, boasts offers from a multitude of prestigious programs including the Tennessee Volunteers, Florida Gators, UCF Knights, Miami Hurricanes, Penn State Nittany Lions, Wake Forest Demon Deacons, Syracuse Orange, Kentucky Wildcats, South Carolina Gamecocks, and NC State Wolfpack.

On another note, amidst legal battles involving Florida State and Clemson, ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips expressed cautious optimism regarding the outcomes. Despite acknowledging the challenges posed by these lawsuits, Phillips remains hopeful for a favorable resolution.

He emphasized the importance of maintaining optimism and navigating through these difficulties while safeguarding the interests of the ACC. Additionally, Phillips highlighted the ACC’s expansion into new markets with the inclusion of Stanford, Cal, and SMU, aiming for comprehensive distribution to maximize revenue. Discussing the ACC’s share of future College Football Playoff revenue, Phillips acknowledged the challenges but emphasized the pursuit of both financial and competitive success. In other news, Florida State’s head football coach Mike Norvell received the FWAA Super 11 Coach of the Year award for his exemplary media access throughout the season, marking a significant achievement for the program.
