Matt Hendricks #15 of the Winnipeg Jets
The Minnesota Wild have appointed Matt Hendricks as the general manager of their American Hockey League franchise in Iowa.
This change follows the promotion of former GM Michael Murray, who is now one of the three new assistant general managers for the Minnesota club.
Hendricks, 42, has spent five seasons with the Wild, working as Assistant Director of Player Development from 2019 to 2024. He will now take on the role of general manager in Iowa.
A native of Blaine, MN, Hendricks played 607 NHL games for the Colorado Avalanche, Washington Capitals, Nashville Predators, Edmonton Oilers, Winnipeg Jets, and Wild. He also played 247 AHL games for the Milwaukee Admirals, Lowell Lock Monsters, Rochester Americans, Hershey Bears, Providence Bruins, and Lake Erie Monsters.
Hendricks played for the Jets during the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons, serving an important role on the team’s bottom line and in the locker room. Although he never won a Stanley Cup or Calder Cup, he reached the AHL finals in 2007.
Over his 11-season NHL career, he scored 54 goals, tallied 116 points, and amassed 722 penalty minutes.
