Gabe Vincent is marked as unavailable for the Knicks matchup.

Los Angeles Lakers guard Gabe Vincent, who has been sidelined for almost the entire season with left knee effusion, was initially targeting a return on Monday against the New York Knicks, according to recent reports. However, the Lakers’ Sunday practice and subsequent injury report revealed Vincent’s status as “out” for the Knicks game. While there’s a possibility of an upgrade on Monday, the anticipated return date appears to have been premature.

Vincent’s absence has left the Lakers short-handed in the guard position. As a key offseason signing, he was expected to bolster the team’s point-of-attack defense, contribute to offensive playmaking, and deliver timely shots. The Lakers eagerly await his return to the lineup, even if it comes with a minutes restriction. Depth has been a concern for the team this season, but with players gradually returning to health, the situation is improving.

On the Lakers’ injury report, D’Angelo Russell is likely to make a comeback, listed as probable with a non-COVID illness. Cam Reddish is not on the injury report. Anthony Davis (left adductor/hip spasm) and Reddish are questionable, along with LeBron James (left calf contusion) and Christian Wood (non-COVID illness), while Jarred Vanderbilt (low back spasm) is probable. Despite minor injuries, coach Darvin Ham expressed no significant concerns about anyone missing extended time after Friday’s loss to the San Antonio Spurs.
