Auburn Tigers Shake Up: Softball Scores Double Play with Co-Head Coach Hires, Plus 4-Star Safety Locks in Commitment Date!

In today’s Auburn Tigers News, significant developments have unfolded as the softball program announces the appointment of co-head coaches, while a highly sought-after 4-star safety sets the date for his commitment. Earlier this year, Auburn softball head coach Mickey Dean disclosed his departure after a commendable seven-year tenure. Now, the university reveals Chris and Kate Malveux, a dynamic husband-wife duo, as the successors to lead the softball program. The Malveuxs, who honed their skills as assistants at Tennessee, bring a wealth of experience, with Chris specializing in offense and Kate excelling in coaching catchers and base runners, contributing significantly to Tennessee’s offensive prowess during the 2023 season.

According to Auburn athletics director John Cohen, their collaborative energy was unmistakable, underscoring their integral role in Tennessee’s recent success. Meanwhile, attention in the football realm shifts to Thompson High School’s standout, 4-star safety Anquon Fegans, who has set his commitment date for July 27. Fegans, ranked among the top recruits in Alabama and the nation for the class of 2025, is poised to make a pivotal decision among Auburn, Georgia, Clemson, and LSU. With official visits planned to various universities in June and a scheduled appearance at Auburn’s Big Cat Weekend, Fegans remains a prized target for the Tigers, citing the strong bond he shares with Auburn coach Charles Kelly and recognizing Kelly’s proven track record of nurturing players for success in the NFL.
