Breaking News: Kansas Lands Mississippi State Guard…

LAWRENCE, Kan. (KCTV) – The Kansas Jayhawks bolstered their backcourt depth on Wednesday by adding Mississippi State transfer Shakeel Moore.

Moore, entering his fifth and final collegiate season, started his career at NC State during the 2020-21 season before transferring to Mississippi State, where he played for three seasons.

The 6-foot-1 guard from Greensboro, N.C., averaged 7.9 points per game and shot 46.8 percent from the field as a senior last season. He announced his commitment via Instagram.

This addition comes on the same day head coach Bill Self revealed that Kansas guard Elmarko Jackson will miss the 2024-25 season due to a torn patellar tendon, an injury he sustained during a camp scrimmage in Lawrence.

Moore started 22 of 33 games for the Bulldogs last season and has 68 starts over his four-year career. He joins a Kansas backcourt featuring Dajuan Harris, South Dakota State transfer Zeke Mayo, and Alabama transfer Rylan Griffen.
