The Wisconsin Badgers have secured a commitment from 2025 three-star cornerback Jahmare Washington, who announced his decision on Sunday.
Washington’s commitment marks the fourth for the Badgers during this period of official visits, joining cornerback Rukeem Stroud and offensive linemen Logan Powell and Nolan Davenport.
The Badgers offered Washington a spot back in February and made a strong effort to secure an official visit, initially scheduled for the upcoming weekend. However, Washington moved up his visit by a week, ultimately leading to his commitment following this past weekend’s visit.
Standing at 6’2″ and weighing 170 pounds, Washington possesses the ideal length and athleticism that the Badgers seek in their outside cornerbacks. He becomes the second cornerback in the class alongside Stroud.
Moreover, the Badgers could potentially have athlete Remington Moss play cornerback, given his 6’3″, 185-pound frame suits both defensive back positions.
In total, Washington becomes the sixth defensive back commit for the Badgers, joining Moss, Stroud, Grant Dean, Luke Emmerich, and Jaimier Scott, adding to an already strong class in the Luke Fickell era.
An Illinois native, Washington was among the Badgers’ top cornerback targets alongside Tre Poteat and Zadian Gentry, both of whom visited last weekend.
Washington is the first player to commit from this weekend’s group of visitors and the 15th overall commit for the Badgers’ 2025 class.
