Broncos Land Premier Pass Rusher from UFL Champions

In the NFL, assembling a 90-man roster means leaving no stone unturned. The league benefits from other professional leagues where players, including former NFL talents, gain valuable experience and showcase their skills. The Denver Broncos have noticed a standout pass rusher from the UFL champion Birmingham Stallions and are expected to add him to their roster soon.

According to Aaron Wilson, the Broncos are working out and are expected to sign outside linebacker Dondrea Tillman. Tillman, one of the top pass rushers in the UFL, will compete for a spot on Denver’s 53-man roster.

Wilson first reported the Broncos’ intention to sign Tillman, while MLFootball on Twitter/X initially noted Tillman’s workout with Denver.

Tillman, a 6-foot-3, 270-pound EDGE defender, excelled at pressuring quarterbacks for the Stallions. Over the past two seasons, he accumulated more than 33 quarterback pressures, earning high grades from Pro Football Focus for his edge play.

This move should be viewed as a low-risk opportunity for the Broncos to take a chance on a deserving player. It reflects the team’s proactive approach in signing standouts from other pro leagues.

Tillman, at 26, still has time to make an impact in the NFL. His journey with the Broncos in 2024 will depend on training camp performance and competing against players like undrafted free agent Thomas Incoom.

With training camp and preseason ahead, anything can happen. The Broncos are betting on their pro scouting with this decision, making Tillman a player to watch throughout the offseason.
