Kansas football secured a significant commitment for their 2025 class, adding Tate Nagy, a versatile player from Blue Valley West High School. Nagy, the son of Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy, announced his decision to join the Jayhawks on Sunday night.
Though primarily a quarterback at Blue Valley West, Nagy is expected to transition to wide receiver at KU. This commitment marks the 14th addition to the Jayhawks’ 2025 recruiting class, a promising sign for the future of the program under head coach Lance Leipold.
Nagy’s commitment followed an official visit to Lawrence over the weekend. The Jayhawks extended their offer to him on June 12th, recognizing his potential and versatility. During his junior season, Nagy showcased his athleticism and playmaking ability, averaging 6.7 yards per carry and scoring five touchdowns.
Despite receiving Division I offers from Kentucky and Ball State, Nagy chose KU, indicating his belief in the program’s direction and potential. His decision also reflects a special connection to the Kansas City area, influenced by his father’s high-profile role with the Chiefs.
