What Kansas State’s Senior Right Guard Brings to Wildcat’s Offensive Line in His New Role

Offensive lineman Hadley Panzer #54 of the Kansas State Wildcats

As the Kansas State Wildcats prepare for another promising season, senior right guard Hadley Panzer has emerged as a crucial mentor for the team’s young offensive linemen. With a wealth of experience and a steadfast commitment to his role, Panzer is poised to lead by example both on and off the field.

Panzer’s journey with the Wildcats began in 2021 as a true freshman, where he saw action in nine games. Over the last two seasons, he solidified his position, starting 13 games each year. Reflecting on his evolution, Panzer shared insights during spring practices. “It has come full circle,” he said. “Being the older guy trying to bring along young guys and trying to figure it out like when I first got here, what I did.”

His leadership will be on display at the Big 12 media days on Tuesday at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Panzer, along with head coach Chris Klieman, quarterback Avery Johnson, offensive lineman, linebacker Austin Moore, safety Marques Sigle, and defensive end Brendan Mott, will represent Kansas State at the event.

Last season, Panzer’s performance at right guard was instrumental in the Wildcats’ offensive success. Starting all 13 games, he helped the offensive line earn semifinalist status for the prestigious Joe Moore Award, which recognizes the top offensive line unit in the nation. The Wildcats ranked in the top 30 nationally in 11 offensive categories, including an impressive 10th in scoring (37.1 points per game), 11th in rushing (204.1 yards per game), and 11th in third down conversions (47.9%).

Panzer’s commitment extends beyond his on-field duties. “I’m trying to bridge that gap for the new guys coming in,” he explained. “Where to be, to be on time, where everything is at, I mean because new guys coming in they don’t know anything. I am trying to build that bridge to make that transition smooth and be there for them.”

As Kansas State looks to build on last season’s achievements, Panzer’s leadership and experience will be invaluable. His dedication to fostering a supportive environment for incoming players underscores his role as a linchpin for the Wildcats. With Panzer anchoring the offensive line, K-State fans have every reason to be optimistic about the season ahead.
