Tampa Bay Rays
The Tampa Bay Rays have added a new arm to their organization, signing Fresno State right-handed pitcher Noah Beal as an undrafted free agent. Beal, who spent just one season with the Bulldogs, impressed with his performance on the mound, making 16 starts and earning a 4-4 record.
During his time at Fresno State, Beal showcased his pitching prowess by leading the team with 93 strikeouts in 79.0 innings pitched. His 5.13 ERA was the second-best on the team, having given up only 45 earned runs. His standout season also earned him Mountain West Pitcher of the Week honors twice, on March 11 and April 8. In a crucial moment during the Mountain West Championship in San Diego, Beal struck out a career-high 12 batters in an elimination game against regular-season champion Air Force.
Prior to joining the Bulldogs, Beal played for the UNLV Hustlin’ Rebels for three seasons, where he compiled a 6.37 ERA and an overall record of 11-7 in 149.2 innings. He started in 25 games and made 41 appearances on the mound, striking out 122 batters and allowing 106 earned runs.
Beal’s baseball journey began at Clovis High School, and he closed out his four-year collegiate career with a cumulative ERA of 5.75 across 228.2 innings, striking out 215 batters. His consistent ability to deliver strikeouts and his experience across multiple seasons at the collegiate level make him a promising addition to the Rays’ pitching staff.
As Beal transitions to professional baseball, the Tampa Bay Rays will be looking to further develop his skills and potentially harness his talent for their future success.
