Braves Poised to Snatch Young Phenomenon, Touted as Spencer Strider’s Perfect Successor
It’s evident that changes are on the horizon for the Atlanta Braves.
The Braves have a strong chance of making a deep playoff run and competing for a World Series title this season, but they need a solid trade deadline to bolster their roster, especially given the numerous injuries they’ve faced.
While Atlanta’s roster is strong, they could use another starting pitcher due to Spencer Strider’s absence. The best available option might be Chicago White Sox ace Garrett Crochet.
Crochet, a young All-Star, has had a fantastic season. However, the White Sox are approaching a firesale, and according to the New York Post’s Jon Heyman, there is a “high” chance Crochet will be traded.
“The outstanding reliever-turned-starter and Major League Baseball strikeout leader (150) presumably has some innings consideration since he’s up from 12 innings to more than 100 already,” Heyman said. “He’s been linked to the (Los Angeles Dodgers), (San Diego Padres), (Baltimore Orioles), and (New York Yankees), but one person said the Yankees ‘are not that into’ him. Trade chances: High.”
Crochet could be the ideal young addition to help the Braves both this season and in the future. If the White Sox are open to offers, the Braves should inquire about the cost of acquiring him.
