Andrew Nembhard #2 of the Indiana Pacers
The Indiana Pacers and guard Andrew Nembhard have agreed to a three-year, $59 million contract extension, keeping him with the franchise through the 2027-28 season. The deal was reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Nembhard, drafted at the top of the second round in the 2022 NBA draft out of Gonzaga, has quickly become one of Indiana’s key rotational players alongside Tyrese Haliburton and Pascal Siakam. His performance in both the regular season and the playoffs has solidified his value to the Pacers as they aim to build a consistent contender.
During the regular season, Nembhard averaged 9.2 points and 4.1 assists while shooting an impressive 49.8%, including 35.7% from three-point range over 68 games. His breakout came during the Eastern Conference playoffs this past spring, where he elevated his game, averaging 14.9 points and 5.5 assists on 56% shooting, helping guide the Pacers to the conference finals against the Boston Celtics.
The 24-year-old’s new extension could be a team-friendly deal if his playoff performance becomes the norm. Nembhard’s ability to take his game to another level has the Pacers hopeful that he can be a consistent scorer alongside Haliburton and Siakam for years to come.
