Sauber releases the 2024 and 2025 official team names.
Sauber, formerly known as Alfa Romeo from 2019 to 2023, underwent a name change after the contract expiration. The newly adopted name will be in use for two seasons before being succeeded by Audi.
Sauber has officially declared that it will be rebranded as Stake F1 Team for the upcoming 2024 and 2025 Formula 1 seasons, leading up to the arrival of Audi.
Following the departure of Alfa Romeo as the title sponsor, the team had previously hinted at the name Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber, incorporating two major sponsors into the official name. However, cryptic social media messages before the new year suggested the possibility of a different name, which was officially revealed on New Year’s Day as simply Stake F1 Team.

Stake, a company involved in betting, entertainment, and lifestyle, joined the team as a sponsor for the 2023 season and has now expanded its role for 2024 by acquiring exclusive naming rights for the team. The company, associated with Canadian rapper Drake and serving as the shirt sponsors for Everton Football Club in the Premier League, plays a significant role in this strategic move.
Team Representative Alessandro Alunni Bravi explained, “Last season represented the start of Stake’s journey in Formula 1, and the brand’s new role headlining Stake F1 Team represents the natural and exciting next step on this path.”
Co-founder of Stake, Edward Craven, expressed alignment between the company’s values and those of F1, stating, “Fuelled by deep passion for speed, innovation, and pushing boundaries, we are now ideally positioned to take the team to unprecedented heights from 2024 and beyond.”
Craven also hinted at thrilling activations and an exciting future for Stake F1 Team, promising an exhilarating journey on and off the track.
