Kansas State Offers Optimistic Injury Update on RB Dylan Edwards.

The Kansas State Wildcats may welcome back one of their top offensive playmakers this Saturday against Iowa State.

Head coach Chris Klieman provided an update on running back Dylan Edwards, who missed last week’s game against Cincinnati due to injury.

“I think there’s a good chance [Edwards plays], but I’ll know more on Thursday,” Klieman said. “I feel positive about having Dylan back.”

Edwards has rushed 53 times for 345 yards and three touchdowns, in addition to catching 17 passes for 106 yards and one touchdown.

In other news, the Wildcats are still in contention for a spot in the Big 12 title game after a weekend full of upsets. Wins by Colorado and BYU have kept Kansas State’s hopes alive, but Klieman emphasized the focus remains solely on their upcoming game against Iowa State.

“We probably won’t [talk about it],” Klieman said. “The players understand that they can’t control what happens with other teams.”

To reach the title game, Kansas State needs a win over Iowa State while hoping that three of the four 6-2 teams (Cyclones, BYU, Colorado, and Arizona State) lose their respective finales.

Here’s the weekend schedule:

  • Arizona State at Arizona, 2:30 p.m.
  • Houston at BYU, 9:15 p.m.
  • Oklahoma State at Colorado, 11 a.m. Friday
  • Kansas State at Iowa State, 6:30 p.m.

Klieman expressed frustration that the NCAA doesn’t schedule all crucial games at the same time, which would allow teams to know the full impact of their game before kickoff.

“I just wish all the games that matter were at the same time,” Klieman said. “The NFL does it, college football should, too. It just makes sense.”
