After three seasons with the Auburn Tigers, cornerback Keionte Scott has decided to enter the transfer portal for his final year of eligibility, as reported by Caleb Jones on X.
Scott, who was a senior this season, gains an additional year of eligibility due to a new ruling for JUCO players. He becomes the fifth Auburn defensive back to enter the portal.
There is no information yet on where Scott will continue his college career. Before transferring to Auburn in 2022, Scott spent two seasons at Snow College in Ephraim, Utah. Over his three seasons with Auburn, the 6-foot-2, 192-pound defensive back played in 33 games and started 23, recording 115 tackles, six tackles for loss, one sack, 10 pass deflections, and one interception.
As a JUCO prospect, Scott was a four-star recruit, ranked as the No. 2 JUCO player and the No. 1 JUCO cornerback in the class of 2022 by 247Sports. He chose Auburn over schools like Arizona, BYU, Oregon, and Tennessee.
Scott joins other Auburn defensive backs, including starting safety Caleb Wooden, reserve safeties Laquan Robinson and C.J. Johnson, and cornerback Antonio Kite, who was dismissed from the program in October, in entering the portal.
The Tigers recently secured three cornerbacks in their 2025 recruiting class, which is ranked sixth nationally. The players are four-star recruits Donovan Starr and Blake Woodby, as well as three-star Devin Williams. According to 247Sports, Auburn’s transfer portal class is currently ranked No. 4 in the nation, behind Texas Tech, LSU, and Ole Miss.
