A Matunga-based cricketer in Mumbai met a devastating fate when he was hit behind the ear by a ball originating from a nearby pitch.

In a sorrowful sequence of events, a Mumbai cricketer lost his life when a ball from an adjacent pitch struck him on the head. The 52-year-old player succumbed to his injuries after being hit during a match at Dadkar Maidan in Matunga, Mumbai. The unfortunate incident took place during the Kutchhi Visa Oswal Vikas Legend Cup, a T20 tournament specifically designed for participants aged 50 or above.

According to accounts, the player faced away from the batter on the adjacent field when the ball hit him on the head, specifically behind his ear. After the impact, he was swiftly transported to the hospital, where he was sadly pronounced dead.

An eyewitness shared, “He fell down and was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared dead,” as reported by the Times of India.
