Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Jack Flaherty played a crucial role in the team’s 2024 World Series victory. However, after spending half a season with the Dodgers, his time in Los Angeles could be nearing its end.
With Shohei Ohtani and Dustin May returning from injury and Blake Snell being added to the rotation, there’s no room for Flaherty’s $80 million deal. FanSided’s Christopher Kline recently predicted that Flaherty could leave Los Angeles and sign with the Atlanta Braves.
The Braves, dealing with the loss of Max Fried and Charlie Morton this winter, are in need of pitching help. Kline noted, “If Atlanta is truly willing to spend aggressively on the free agent market, Jack Flaherty is an obvious target.” Despite a difficult second half of 2023 in Baltimore, Flaherty had a strong season overall, recording 194 strikeouts in 164 innings and a 3.17 ERA.
The Braves would greatly benefit from adding him to their rotation, which has been weakened by the departures of Fried and Morton. Flaherty could be key to their 2025 World Series aspirations.
