Mercedes has become the fifth Formula 1 team to confirm the launch date for its 2024 car.

Lewis Hamilton and George Russell are set to continue as the team’s drivers for the 2024 season, marking their third consecutive season together. In the 2023 campaign, Mercedes finished second in the constructors’ championship, narrowly ahead of Ferrari but trailing Red Bull Racing.

The previous car, the W14, faced challenges and inconsistencies throughout the season, prompting Mercedes to rethink its design philosophy for the W15. This shift in direction was already noticeable in the upgrade packages introduced during the 2023 season, featuring changes in the floor, sidepods, engine cover, front suspension, and rear wing.

The upcoming car, the W15, is anticipated to include further modifications, such as a revised driving position, addressing concerns raised by Hamilton about a sense of disconnect with the rear of the car.

Mercedes will follow Sauber and Williams, which unveiled their new cars on February 5, Aston Martin on February 12, and Ferrari on February 13. Pre-season testing is scheduled to take place in Bahrain from February 21–23, leading up to the opening round of the season at the same circuit from February 29 to March 2.
