Very improbable that Lakers would trade for the Bulls Zachary LaVine
Every trade speculation revolves around the Los Angeles Lakers, and Zach LaVine of the Chicago Bulls is reportedly quite available.
According to insiders, LaVine would love to be dealt to the Lakers, but it doesn’t seem likely that his wish will be fulfilled. Rich Paul is his agent; among his many clients are NBA players LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Paul has stated unequivocally that he does not have a particular location in mind for LaVine.
Considering how shaky the market is for the UCLA product, that might be a good thing. There’s a possibility that he will stick with the Bulls for the duration of the season.
According to McMenamin, the Lakers appear to be considering a few more of Paul’s clients, including guards Dejounte Murray of the Atlanta Hawks and Collin Sexton of the Utah Jazz.
Los Angeles, which is 21–21, could definitely use some assistance. According to rumors, the Lakers are especially seeking players with quickness and athleticism at the wing positions.
Several reports indicate that Lavine’s contract may indeed be a sticking issue. In July 2022, he inked a $215 million, five-year contract with the Bulls. He is therefore owed $43 million the following season and $40 million this one. In 2025–2026, he will then make $45 million.
This season, LaVine is averaging 20.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.0 assists while shooting 35% from three-point range and 45% from the field. When he is in the lineup, the Bulls are only 9-15; when he is not, they are 10-7. Throughout his career, he has had two knee surgeries. This season, he missed 17 games due to foot irritation.
With the Bulls and Minnesota Timberwolves, LaVine, 28, has averaged 20.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.9 assists throughout his career.
