In a post-match interview with John McEnroe, Daniil Medvedev said he was “destroyed” by his matchup with Hubert Hurkacz at the 2024 Australian Open. He will now await the winner of Carlos Alcaraz vs. Alexander Zverev.
In less than four hours, Medvedev defeated the Polish ace 7-6, 2-6, 6-3, 5-7, 6-4, securing his place in the final four. Hurkacz put on an incredible show and undoubtedly contributed to the thrilling match that took place on Rod Laver Arena. When McEnroe questioned him about how he was able to pull it off, he joked, “Amazing victory.” both emotionally and physically to pull that off. Inform the group that you succeeded.
Medvedev simply replied, “I’m so destroyed right now,” in response. Additionally, he began to stand much closer following his Jim Courier masterclass about returning on Eurosport, and McEnroe questioned whether he was attempting to put Hurkacz off.
