“Rising Star: Malakai Lee, Offensive Lineman from Kamehameha School, Gains Momentum in 2026 College Recruiting Scene”

Honolulu, Hawaii—Malakai Lee, an offensive lineman at Kamehameha 2026, is quickly becoming the best recruit in his class in Hawaii.

Malakai Lee, an offensive lineman at Honolulu’s Kamehameha School in the 2026 class, is emerging as a top prospect from Hawaii. Currently, he is on the radar of several college programs, with ten offers already in the works.

Alabama, Georgia, and Oregon stand out as strong contenders for Lee, as he has visited all three, expressing his positive experiences with each. During his visit to Oregon, he particularly appreciated Coach A’Lique Terry. Georgia left a lasting impression with coaches Kirby Smart and Stacy Searels, and despite the historical significance of his offer from Alabama, Lee is confident in the continuation of Coach Nick Saban’s legacy, having spoken with Coach Scott Huff during his time at Washington.

Texas has also entered the mix, attracting Lee’s interest with an offer. The move of fellow Hawaiians Sili Tausili Akana and Liona Lefau to Texas has piqued Lee’s curiosity about the university.

Looking ahead, Lee plans to visit Washington, Miami, and Michigan in the upcoming summer. He expressed particular interest in Michigan and Washington, with the possibility of adding Miami to his list.

Kamehameha School anticipates visits from colleges such as Utah, Arizona, Stanford, UCLA, and both USC campuses this month, reflecting the growing attention Lee is receiving. Despite not being deeply involved in college football during his upbringing, Lee is navigating the recruitment process with an open mind, having been more of an NFL enthusiast.

While primarily recruited as a left tackle, the 6-8, 305-pound athlete has mentioned his willingness to occasionally play on the defensive side for Kamehameha. Following a notable performance at the Deestroying Linemen 1on1s last weekend, Lee is considering additional camps in the spring and summer to further showcase his skills.
