Jakob Poeltl’s Potential Comeback Sparks Interest Ahead of Raptors’ Game vs Bulls

It appears that Jakob Poeltl is on the verge of making a comeback.

The Toronto Raptors have listed the 28-year-old’s status as questionable for their upcoming game against the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday night, marking the first time since he suffered an ankle sprain over three weeks ago that he’s been in this category. Initially labeled as doubtful, he was eventually ruled out of Sunday’s game.

Meanwhile, RJ Barrett has been officially ruled out by Toronto due to an unexpected recurrence of a left knee injury sustained during a game against the New York Knicks nine days ago. Despite initially playing through it, the injury resurfaced, forcing him to miss his second consecutive Raptors game.

Immanuel Quickley is also facing uncertainty as he deals with a contusion in his right thigh, being listed as doubtful. Suffered against the Memphis Grizzlies last month, this injury might cause him to miss his third consecutive game.

In Tuesday night’s game, keep an eye on Jordan Nwora and Gradey Dick, as both are likely to see increased playing time amid Toronto’s shift towards a rebuild, especially after showing promise in their recent matchup against the Atlanta Hawks.

Should Poeltl make his return, Jontay Porter’s minutes may decrease, but it would be wise for Toronto to prioritize starting the 24-year-old big man over Thad Young for potential long-term benefits.
