New England Patriots’ Cornerback Christian Gonzalez Advocates for Drafting Former Teammate Bo Nix as Quarterback
The New England Patriots are in need of a quarterback, and with the No. 3 pick in the upcoming 2024 NFL draft, they will have a range of quarterback options to consider.
Christian Gonzalez, former Oregon Ducks’ star and current New England cornerback, has a preference for which quarterback he would like to see the Patriots select. Gonzalez is rooting for Oregon quarterback Bo Nix, his former college teammate, to join the Patriots. He expressed his support for Nix on a Patriots’ Instagram post showcasing Nix’s highlights from the Senior Bowl. In one of the comments, Gonzalez simply wrote, “Hey Bo.”

Nix has garnered attention from NFL scouts following an impressive 2023 season, during which he threw for 4,580 yards, 45 touchdowns, and three interceptions, with a completion rate of 77.4%, leading the Ducks to a 12-2 record.
Gonzalez further hinted at a potential reunion with Nix when he commented on a photo posted by Nix after the Ducks’ victory over Liberty in the Fiesta Bowl last month, saying, “We should team up again.”
While many draft analysts suggest that it’s unlikely for the Patriots to select Nix with the No. 3 pick, they may opt to go in a different direction and target a quarterback later in the draft.
