Breaking: A new forward signs a two-year deal with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (KDKA) – General manager Kyle Dubas announced on Sunday that the Pittsburgh Penguins had signed forward Jesse Puljujarvi to a two-year deal.

The two-year deal, which has an average yearly value of $800,000, is valid through the conclusion of the 2024–2025 season.

While recovering from off-season hip surgery, 25-year-old Puljujarvi signed a professional tryout contract with Pittsburgh on December 10. He has since played in 13 games for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, recording four goals, five assists, and nine points.

The 6-foot-4 Finnish winger played for the Edmonton Oilers and Carolina Hurricanes during the 2022–2023 season, collecting five goals, eleven assists, and sixteen points from 75 games. Between Edmonton and Carolina, Puljujarvi has played in 334 NHL games and recorded 51 goals, 63 assists, and 114 career points.

The Edmonton Oilers picked Puljujarvi with the fourth overall pick in the 2016 NHL Draft.
