LSU athletes climb in the most recent NFL mock drafts.
Following the NFL combine, mock drafts are in full swing. NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein released his second mock draft, with three LSU Tigers going in the top 20 picks. Quarterback Jayden Daniels, despite not throwing at the combine, remains highly regarded and is projected to be selected second overall by the Washington Commanders, reuniting him with former college coach Kliff Kingsbury.
The next Tiger off the board in Zierlein’s mock draft is wide receiver Malik Nabers, predicted to be picked by the Arizona Cardinals, providing quarterback Kyler Murray with another weapon. Nabers’ selection reflects the uncertainty in the draft order for receivers.
Another LSU standout, Brian Thomas Jr., is slated to join the Cincinnati Bengals. Thomas Jr. impressed at the combine, showcasing his speed and readiness to contribute immediately. Bengals fans hope the “LSU north” combination of Thomas Jr., Joe Burrow, and Ja’Marr Chase can lead them to the Super Bowl.
The NFL draft is scheduled for April 25-27, 2024, in Detroit, MI, at Campus Martius Park and Hart Plaza. LSU players will have the opportunity to further showcase their skills at the LSU Pro Day in front of NFL scouts and coaches.
