Recently, Clemson faced the challenge of decommitment when offensive guard Jaylan Beckley from Addison, Texas, announced his decision to withdraw his commitment to the Tigers, which he had initially made in January after a junior day visit.
In his announcement, Beckley (6-4, 290) expressed gratitude towards head coach Dabo Swinney, lead recruiter Garrett Riley, and the entire coaching staff for their efforts in recruiting him.
Acknowledging the numerous individuals who had invested time in building relationships with him and his family, Beckley mentioned meeting remarkable people at Clemson, including fellow recruits, passionate fans, and reporters.
After reflecting on his decision, praying, and consulting with his family, Beckley concluded that he needed more time to make such a significant decision about his college career.
Emphasizing that his choice was entirely his own and not taken lightly, Beckley acknowledged the incredible opportunities ahead of him and officially reopened his recruitment.
Beckley’s decision to decommit left Clemson with only two remaining offensive line commitments for the class of 2025, reducing their total commitments to 10.
One of the most highly anticipated prospects nationally in the 2025 class is offensive tackle David Sanders (6-6, 270) from Charlotte. He’s widely regarded as one of the top prospects in his class. Both Clemson and USC have been actively pursuing him for a couple of years, and recently, they made it to his list of top six choices.
In addition to Clemson and USC, Sanders listed Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, and Tennessee as his other considerations. Sanders had visited Clemson and USC last spring, attending games during the previous season where he witnessed Clemson against Florida State and USC against Jacksonville State. Furthermore, in 2023, he had made visits to Tennessee, Georgia, Ohio State, Alabama, USC, and Florida State.
