Breaking News: Leeds United has encountered an injury setback

The 26-year-old, currently on loan at Roma, has been a consistent presence in Serie A this season. However, it appears he will now face a period out of the team due to an injury.

During Roma’s match against Monza on Sunday (March 3), he was substituted after only 27 minutes. According to reports from Il Tempo, as cited by Roma Press, he underwent tests to determine the severity of the injury.

Reportedly, the Denmark international has sustained a thigh muscle injury, which is expected to sideline him for a minimum of four weeks.

Kristensen arrived at Leeds in the summer of 2022, having previously collaborated with Jesse Marsch at Red Bull Salzburg. Similar to several other signings made that season, he faced challenges adjusting to the Premier League.

Despite his struggles, Kristensen featured regularly for Leeds during the 2022/23 season. However, he couldn’t halt the team’s descent out of the top flight. Following relegation, Kristensen was one of the players loaned out by Leeds.

Subsequently, the right-back position at Elland Road has been filled by teenager Archie Gray, who has impressed despite primarily being a central midfielder.

As it stands, Roma holds fifth position in the Serie A standings, trailing league leaders Inter by 25 points. Meanwhile, Leeds currently occupies third place in the Championship, with a two-point deficit behind second-placed Ipswich Town. Daniel Farke’s team has the opportunity to surpass Ipswich Town in the standings by defeating Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday.
