Major sponsor exits Tigers after feeling disrespected and unwilling to be dictated to.

The Wests Tigers have faced a major setback ahead of their first official game of 2024, as a major sponsor has decided to withdraw its support due to what it perceives as “disrespectful” treatment. FAB Industrial Logistics, an import and export specialist company, had been the Tigers’ back-of-jersey and sleeve sponsor, contributing $800,000 to the club. However, the company opted to end its sponsorship after interim CEO Shane Richardson suggested the possibility of adding Allied Express, a direct competitor, as another sponsor on the Tigers’ jersey.

The situation was deeply disappointing for FAB Industrial Logistics’ managing director Neil Fabry, who expressed his frustration, stating that he “blew up about it.” He highlighted that despite the club’s recent challenges, he had personally invested more money into the Tigers last year to support them during tough times. Fabry revealed that during a discussion with Shane Richardson, he was informed about the club’s intention to include one of his competitors on the jersey, which ultimately led to his decision to withdraw his sponsorship.
