Tragic Passing Leaves High School Athletics in Mourning: Remembering a Coaching Legend at 29
The community is reflecting on the life of a high school coach and former standout player for the Wildcats following his passing on Saturday, April 20. Terrale Johnson, a Manhattan High School graduate and former K-State offensive lineman, reportedly passed away at the age of 29. Johnson’s impact both on and off the field is being remembered by Shawnee Mission South and Mill Valley high schools, where he worked as an assistant football coach and as a para and resource teacher.

Kansas State Wildcats strengthen defense with acquisition of Rice football transfer Jordan Dunbar.
Chris Klieman and the Kansas State football program have secured another transfer addition. Jordan Dunbar, a 6-foot, 190-pound defensive back hailing from Rice, has pledged his commitment to the Wildcats. Confirmation of Dunbar’s decision came from a K-State football insider on Friday afternoon, corroborated by reports from both On3 and 247Sports. Opting for K-State over several other schools including Marshall, Western Kentucky, Temple, East Carolina, UNLV, Georgia Southern, and more, Dunbar is set to join the Wildcats after completing his collegiate football tenure at Rice. During his time with the Owls, Dunbar amassed 54 tackles and defended 17 passes across two seasons. His notable performance as an underclassman earned him honorable mention recognition from Conference USA as a sophomore. Despite missing the entirety of last season due to a redshirt, Dunbar is eager to revitalize his career in the competitive environment of the Big 12 conference. Joining the Wildcats as a junior, he retains two years of college eligibility. Expected to vie for playing time within the Wildcats’ secondary, Dunbar brings potential experience and depth behind anticipated starting cornerbacks Keenan Garber and Jacob Parrish.
