The recently acquired quarterback for the Chargers delivers a distinct message ahead of the Raiders game.

Not only did the Los Angeles Chargers suffer a significant defeat against the Denver Broncos in Week 14, but they also faced a major setback when they announced that Justin Herbert would be sidelined for the remainder of the 2023 NFL season after undergoing finger surgery.

The Chargers’ offense has endured significant blows throughout the year, and the loss of Herbert is a severe blow.

With another disappointing season coming to an end, the Chargers anticipate significant changes in the offseason and hope for better luck with injuries in 2024.

The team doesn’t have much time to dwell on the bad news, as they are set to face the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday Night Football.

Taking over for Herbert will be backup Easton Stick, who stepped in during the Broncos game.

Despite acknowledging that North Dakota State isn’t the National Football League, Stick, a productive college quarterback, expresses confidence in his ability to perform against the Raiders, as reported by Kris Rhim of ESPN.

“I understand North Dakota State isn’t the National Football League, but I’m used to winning,” Stick said.

Stick’s unwavering confidence is reassuring, especially since he’s being thrust into the starting role, presumably for the remainder of the season.

In the game against Denver, Stick demonstrated some commendable throws but struggled to cope with the formidable pass rush.

Facing Las Vegas presents similar challenges, given that their defensive line limited the Minnesota Vikings to three points, and Stick won’t have Keenan Allen as an outlet, as Allen has been ruled out for the game.

The odds are stacked against Stick, though at this juncture, there isn’t much left for Los Angeles to lose.
