NFC East Race Week 15: Who Will Win, the Eagles or the Cowboys?

With the Dallas Cowboys on the rise over the past month and the Philadelphia Eagles in decline, the fight for the NFC East has tightened considerably more than most people imagined. After 15 games, which team is most likely to give up?

Contrary to popular belief, the fight for the NFC East has tightened considerably. The Eagles, who had a comfortable lead for the majority of the season, have dropped their last two games and are now back in the cellar of the East. The Cowboys, who now have a tenuous lead in the division, were the opponent in one of those losses. If both teams have one victory in the head-to-head column, tiebreakers may be used to determine the division winner. That is, unless one of the two sides experiences some sort of late-game difficulties.

The Cowboys’ offense has been on fire since their bye week. Over the last seven games, Dallas has outscored its opponents 267-133, going 6-1. potentially ranking third among wide receivers in the NFL is wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, while quarterback Dak Prescott leads the league in touchdowns scored with 28 and is potentially a candidate for MVP.

With only two healthy safety on the roster at the moment, the pass defense is vulnerable, something the Seattle passing game might exploit.

If everything goes Dallas’ way on Sunday, the Cowboys take care of business in Buffalo while the Seahawks—who, regrettably, have dropped four straight games—handle the Eagles their third consecutive defeat.

Dallas would then have control over the NFC East, a potential inside track to the top seed in the NFC and a first-round playoff bye.
