Aaron Rodgers: ‘ I don’t think next year will be my last year’

After discussing his intention to rejoin the team before the end of the current campaign for the past three months, injured quarterback Aaron Rodgers of the New York Jets has now focused on 2024 and beyond.

While recovering from a ruptured Achilles injured in the season opener on September 11, Aaron Rodgers stated on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Tuesday that he would be trying to play if he believed it was doable and if the Jets were in contention for the playoffs. However, New York (5-9) was disqualified from the postseason after falling to the Miami Dolphins 30-0 on Sunday, their sixth consecutive loss.

So, will next season be his final one for the four-time NFL MVP?

“I don’t think so,” Rodgers said. “I felt like when I came here that I got a renewed passion and love for the game. Everything has been amazing here. … I wanted at least two years. I feel like this year is kind of a lost year now that I only played a couple of snaps. Wasn’t able to go out there and prove what I’m capable of, what we’re capable of as a team. I don’t think next year will be my last year.”

On November 29, the Jets gave Aaron Rodgers access to a 21-day practice window. They have till Wednesday to decide whether to activate the 40-year-old off injured reserve or keep him in the lineup for the end of the campaign.
