The Jaguars waived Rourke on Saturday, a decision made a day prior to starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence sustaining a head injury. With the absence of a quarterback on their practice squad, the Jaguars might have retained Rourke had it not been for his waiver.
Consequently, the Jaguars are now in need of an emergency quarterback this week, and the competition for available quarterback reserves is intensifying among teams with urgent requirements.
