Following his recent dismissal former Chargers general manager Tom Telesco says goodbye to Los Angeles.
When the Los Angeles Chargers decided to remove head coach Brandon Staley, general manager Tom Telesco and, the team opted to part ways. Despite Telesco’s long tenure with the team, the Chargers seek a fresh approach. They have a strong roster, but they just can’t seem to put it together to win. After leaving, Telesco spoke on his tenure with the Chargers.
“Thank you… I am grateful for my 11 years as GM of the San Deigo/LA Chargers. It was an experience my family and I will never forget. The NFL is a people business and I am thankful for the hard work, time sacrificed and loyalty of so many. Thank you, Players, Coaches, Scouts, Trainers, Doctors, Video, Equipment, Public Relations, Grounds Crew, Security, Player Engagement, Digital Media, and specifically Ed McGuire and JoJo Wooden. We are looking forward to our next chapter and we will always be Bolt fans,” said Telesco, via X.
Though Telesco’s success in the draft undoubtedly helped the Chargers organization, there hasn’t been much activity in Los Angeles in January. Raising the Lomardi is every team’s objective, and the Chargers haven’t really done much to demonstrate their postseason viability.
Given his skills, Telesco will probably have another work opportunity sooner rather than later. He might have more luck in a winning team with a winning record because it’s not an easy chore to bring players to the Chargers in free agency.
