The Detroit Lions win the NFC North for the first time ever after defeating the Minnesota Vikings.
After defeating the Minnesota Vikings in Week 16, the Detroit Lions successfully clinched their first division championship since 1993.
Detroit Lions fans received an early Christmas present on Sunday afternoon as their cherished team secured the NFC North title with a 30-24 victory over arch-rivals, the Minnesota Vikings. This momentous win, which propelled the Lions to an 11-4 record, marks their inaugural NFC North crown, ending a three-decade drought since their last division title in 1993 when they were part of the five-team NFC Central.

At that time, the NFL consisted of 29 teams and six divisions. Subsequently, over the next nine seasons, the league expanded by adding three teams (Carolina Panthers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Houston Texans) and restructuring into eight divisions in 2002.
This achievement holds significant importance for Dan Campbell and his team, as they become the fourth NFC team to officially secure a spot in the NFL Playoffs, joining the San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys, and Philadelphia Eagles.
