CM Punk secures victory in his initial match since rejoining WWE

CM Punk made his wrestling comeback in a highly anticipated match, marking his first appearance in nearly a decade with WWE. The comeback bout took place at a WWE live house show in Madison Square Garden, New York City, as part of the company’s customary day-after-Christmas event.

The atmosphere was electric as the sold-out crowd erupted with cheers upon hearing Punk’s entrance music. Throughout the match against Dominick Mysterio, fans in attendance expressed their enthusiasm by chanting ‘you still got it,’ acknowledging Punk’s enduring popularity and skill in the ring.

Punk emerged victorious in his return to the WWE ring, securing the win by executing his signature finishing move, the ‘GTS’ (Go to Sleep), and subsequently pinning Mysterio in the center of the ring.

Prior to this Tuesday night triumph, the 45-year-old Punk’s last match took place in September during All Elite Wrestling’s All Out Pay-Per-View in London, England, where he faced Samoa Joe. Notably, Punk was subsequently released from the company after this event.
