Orlando Brown Jr. misses the birth of his son, Looking forward to the Bengals’ game against the Chiefs.

Before Sunday's game in Kansas City, the 27-year-old has a lot to be grateful for.

Bengals left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. made the tough decision to miss the birth of his son to participate in last week’s game in Pittsburgh. His fiancée’s water broke on Saturday morning, just hours before the team was set to leave for Acrisure Stadium. Despite the Bengals losing the game 34-11, Brown’s focus shifted swiftly to the birth of his son, whom he watched being born on FaceTime in the locker room. Brown’s fiancée Holly Luyah and the newborn are both in good health.

Both of Brown’s children were born around Christmas, with his oldest on Dec. 28 and the newborn on Dec. 23, adding to the festivities of the holiday season. Brown, with a touch of humor, remarked, “Good thing I’m rich.”

Orlando Brown #57 of the Kansas City Chiefs

Brown’s commitment to playing despite the personal milestone didn’t surprise many, given his unwavering dedication to football. The Bengals value his contributions, and offensive coordinator Brian Callahan praised him as a consistent and skilled performer. Brown, now with the Bengals after leaving Kansas City, will face the Chiefs for the first time since signing with Cincinnati in March. He expressed curiosity about seeing the Super Bowl banner at Arrowhead Stadium, acknowledging the Chiefs’ role in his career without any animosity.

While the Bengals-Chiefs matchup has lost some of its rivalry luster this season, Brown anticipates a playoff-like atmosphere, emphasizing the high stakes for both teams, regardless of the opponent.
