Detroit Lions Injury Report for Week 18
The Detroit Lions practiced again on Wednesday in preparation for their Week 18 game against the Minnesota Vikings.
Jameson Williams, the team’s wide receiver, did not practice on Wednesday. Coach Dan Campbell had listed him as day-to-day with an ankle issue. Offense tackle Taylor Decker and tight end Brock Wright were also absent.
The Lions want to play their starters against the Minnesota Vikings, since a win plus losses by Dallas and Philadelphia would still put them in second place in the NFC.
However, Campbell also stated that choices concerning wounded players would be made in their best interests. ”
I mean, there’s some guys here, if we feel like the best thing for them would be to sit because of injury, we’re thinking about that,” he said. “We’re taking that into consideration.”
The Lions anticipate to see a number of defensive contributors return, including safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson and defensive tackle Alim McNeill. Campbell hopes to add both to the active roster this week, with James Houston potentially returning in the first round of the playoffs.
McNeill is eligible to return from injured reserve this week, and he began his 21-day practice clock on Wednesday.
“It’s exciting any time you feel like you’re getting some of your good football players back.” “You’re referring to Mac, who is a good football player,” Campbell clarified.
“You’re talking about Ducey, that’s a good football player if we can get him back this week.” With that, you can sense Iffy and Kerby growing on the back end, growing together, and improving.
Branch, too. So when you consider Ducey returning to the game, it opens up possibilities and brings back another playmaker. So it is, and it is thrilling.”
