Five Cleveland Browns players earned spots in the 2024 Pro Bowl, and an additional six have been named alternates.
The NFL has officially unveiled the rosters for the 2024 Pro Bowl Games, and the Cleveland Browns are well-represented with five players securing direct selections. Myles Garrett, Joel Bitonio, David Njoku, Amari Cooper, and Denzel Ward will proudly don the Browns’ colors in this prestigious event set to take place in Orlando, Florida, the weekend preceding the Super Bowl.
Myles Garrett, a defensive juggernaut, earns his fifth Pro Bowl nod, showcasing his consistent dominance since entering the league in 2017. With an impressive 14 sacks and four forced fumbles this season, Garrett is a formidable candidate for the Defensive Player of the Year award. Notably, he shares the record for the most Pro Bowl selections by a Browns defensive player with five, alongside DT/DE Bob Gain and NT Michael Dean Perry.
Joel Bitonio’s selection marks his sixth Pro Bowl appearance, maintaining a remarkable streak since 2018. Bitonio’s pivotal role in anchoring the offensive line during a challenging season speaks to his enduring excellence. His six consecutive Pro Bowl selections align him with the legendary Gene Hickerson, making him the first Browns guard to achieve this since 1971.
David Njoku, having his most outstanding season to date, secures his inaugural Pro Bowl selection. Setting career highs in receptions, yards, and touchdowns, Njoku emerges not only as a statistical standout but also as a vocal leader and fan favorite. His performance adds a dynamic dimension to the Browns’ offense, marking the first Pro Bowl appearance by a Browns tight end since 2014.
Amari Cooper, in his fifth Pro Bowl appearance, garners recognition for his contributions to the Browns. With 72 receptions, 1,250 yards, and five touchdowns, Cooper has been a consistent and reliable target for the team. His achievement includes setting a franchise single-game record with 265 receiving yards in Week 16, solidifying his impact on the Browns’ aerial attack.
Denzel Ward secures his third Pro Bowl selection, highlighting his exceptional play despite missing three games this season. Ward’s contribution to the Browns’ defensive secondary has been instrumental, contributing to the team’s league-leading performance in various defensive categories.
Additionally, six Browns players, namely Corey Bojorquez, Ethan Pocic, Grant Delpit, Dustin Hopkins, Wyatt Teller, and Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, have been named as alternates. These players stand ready to step in should the opportunity arise due to injuries or Super Bowl commitments.
As the NFL transitions to the Pro Bowl Games format, foregoing the traditional football game, fans eagerly anticipate the exciting contests that will be featured in this year’s event. The Browns’ representation underscores the team’s talent and prowess, showcasing their achievements on a broader stage.
