The Falcons have expressed interest in Gus Bradley Pierce.

The Atlanta Falcons, in their search for a new head coach, have expanded their list of interview requests with another notable name.

NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reports that the Falcons have formally sought an interview with Antonio Pierce, the interim coach for the Las Vegas Raiders. Pierce, aged 45, assumed the coaching responsibilities after the Raiders dismissed Josh McDaniels on Halloween.

Taking charge with a 3-5 record and an underperforming offense, Pierce managed to steer the team to a 5-4 finish. This successful stretch included victories against all three AFC West rivals, with a notable 63-21 triumph over the Los Angeles Chargers, a Christmas Day upset against the Kansas City Chiefs, and a home win over the Denver Broncos to conclude the regular season.

Throughout this period, Raiders players, particularly star defensive end Maxx Crosby, have been outspoken in their support for Pierce. Crosby, on January 7, emphasized the legendary and culture-embracing qualities of Pierce, expressing a desire for him to be retained.

The players’ backing underscores the positive impact Pierce has had on the team’s culture, with the prospect of his departure leading some, like Crosby, to consider alternative options.
