Following a brief period of rest and recuperation, the Kansas City Chiefs have returned to the practice field in preparation for their Divisional Round showdown against the Buffalo Bills.

As the playoff showdown approaches this weekend, the Kansas City Chiefs are making the most of the remaining days to optimize their preparation. The upcoming game presents a unique situation for Andy Reid’s team, as star quarterback Patrick Mahomes is set to make his first postseason start on the road against a conference opponent. The Buffalo Bills, led by Sean McDermott, will host the Chiefs in Orchard Park, with a crucial trip to the AFC Championship Game at stake.

Ahead of Wednesday’s practice, Coach Reid offered insights into the current injury status of his team.

At the beginning of his media availability, Coach Reid announced that the Kansas City Chiefs are designating wide receiver Skyy Moore to return from injured reserve. This signifies the commencement of Moore’s 21-day practice window, during which the Chiefs will assess his readiness for activation. Moore, who recorded 21 receptions for 244 yards and a touchdown in the regular season, has been sidelined since Week 15 against the New England Patriots due to a knee injury. Reid alluded to substantial progress being made just last week:

Wide receiver Skyy Moore, who was placed on IR in mid-December due to a knee injury, has a more optimistic outlook. Although Moore is required to sit out the Chiefs’ first playoff game before becoming eligible to return to practice, Reid mentioned that he’s “on track” and “doing a great job” in his ongoing recovery. If Kansas City progresses past Miami in the postseason, there is a decent chance that Moore could contribute in subsequent games.

In other developments within the wide receiver group, Reid mentioned that he’s approaching the injury situations of Justyn Ross (hamstring) and Kadarius Toney (ankle/hip) on a “day-by-day” basis. Although neither player was active in Saturday’s win over the Miami Dolphins, both are set to practice on Wednesday. They were limited participants in the final week of practice.
