BREAKING NEWS: Jet coach is fired.
Even though the majority of the New York Jets’ personnel are anticipated to return, it doesn’t appear like any of them were particularly secure.
Connor Hughes of SNY reports that Taylor Embree, the RB coach, will not be back for the upcoming year.
Hughes continues by saying that Breece Hall’s early professional development benefited greatly from Embree.
In addition, he said that when the organization hired Nathaniel Hackett as offensive coordinator the previous season, he was among Robert Saleh’s”untouchables” on the staff.
The organization has employed the 35-year-old coach since 2021.
In 2016, he was hired as a defensive assistant by the Kansas City Chiefs, his first position in the league.
Then, from 2017 to 2019, he worked as an offensive quality control coach with the San Francisco 49ers. In 2020, he was hired as the tight ends coach for the Colorado Buffaloes.
Josina Anderson of CBS Sports reports that Duce Staley, a possible replacement, recently visited with the Jets.
Staley coached running backs for the Philadelphia Eagles, Detroit Lions, and Carolina Panthers before being fired in the middle of the season after the Panthers parted ways with head coach Frank Reich.
However, if they choose to go after him, they may have to contend with fierce competition because he also had a meeting with the Cleveland Browns, who are now searching for an RB coach following their split from Stump Mitchell.
There should be no shortage of contenders vying to replace Embree because the Jets boast one of the greatest and most promising rookie running backs in the league despite having a mediocre offensive line.
