Alabama Football: The squad is about to add a 2024 linebacker…
Quinton Reese, a three-star linebacker commit who ended his recruitment after meeting with Kalen DeBoer, will remain with the Alabama Football program. Following the coaching change, Reese was the lone athlete who wasn’t sure if he would sign with the Alabama Football program. This past weekend, Reese attended Junior Day, and it seems like Kalen DeBoer and his team made an impression on him. Reese will formally sign his letter of intent to enroll in the program on Wednesday.
The native of Birmingham, who is ranked 48th in the state and 91st among linebackers, is terribly underestimated in prospect rankings. Reese has demonstrated excellent covering skills in high school and plays with a remarkable quickness that will carry over to collegiate competition. Reese is probably going to be a contender to take Deontae Lawson’s and Jihad Campbell’s spot for the 2025 season and beyond, because the linebacker room looks to be set for 2024.
Kalen DeBoer and his team have successfully concluded the 2024 recruitment cycle with the acquisition of Reese. From this signing class, the squad only lost Jameer Grimsley and Julian Sayin to the transfer portal, but the staff was able to re-land Ryan Williams and Quinton Reese and brought in Noah Carter. With Sayin and Grimsley gone, the Alabama football team will end with the second-ranked recruiting class. The signing class might have easily collapsed after Nick Saban left.
Alabama football: Make the most of this course as a foundation
This signing class will need to serve as a launchpad for future recruiting success for Kalen DeBoer and his talented recruiting team. A guy with Ryan Williams’ kind of potential, who has been exposed to showcases and camps by many of the best players in the class, will be a huge asset in the recruiting process for the 2025 class. The players in this signing class—who will be the first without Nick Saban as head coach—have the potential to make or ruin Kalen DeBoer’s tenure at Alabama.
