In his new role, Morris will be tasked with guiding the Falcons back to playoff contention, although the organization still has significant ground to cover before reaching the level of operation seen with the Rams.

Reflecting on his time in Los Angeles, Morris expressed admiration for the close and collaborative relationship between McVay and general manager Les Snead. He acknowledged feeling envious of their ability to communicate openly and effectively, highlighting the maturity and success that can result from such a partnership.

While Morris aims to foster a similar relationship with Falcons general manager Terry Fontenot, he acknowledges that building such rapport will take time and extensive collaboration. Meanwhile, the Rams chose to promote pass-rush coordinator and linebackers coach Chris Shula to fill the vacant defensive coordinator position left by Morris’ departure.
