The reason for the Broncos’ 7.9% 2024 ticket price increase

Despite the Denver Broncos enduring an eighth consecutive season without making the playoffs and registering a losing record for the seventh straight year, the team has decided to raise ticket prices for the upcoming 2024 season.

The Broncos commenced their season ticket renewal process recently, notifying fans of an average price increase of approximately 7.9% for the 2024 season, as reported by KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis. This follows a previous hike of over 13% in 2023, resulting in a total increase of more than 20% over the past two years for season ticket holders.

Some fans have chosen to opt out due to the escalating costs. For instance, @bordesa1 expressed on Twitter/X that they would not be renewing their 27-year tenure as a season ticket holder, citing a cumulative cost increase of 34% since 2016.

Despite potential fan attrition, the Broncos are unlikely to be adversely affected, given the extensive waitlist of over 100,000 individuals eagerly awaiting the opportunity to purchase season tickets.

The average price per game for the 2024 season tickets is approximately $143, compared to about $132 per ticket the previous year. While continual price hikes may eventually alienate some fans, the current demand, as evidenced by the extensive waitlist, indicates that the Broncos will continue to leverage their popularity to maximize revenue.
