According to the insiders Raiders are on a verge to land Denver Broncos $242 Million highly rated QB

One of the most talked-about quarterbacks potentially available this off season is Russell Wilson of the Denver Broncos. Despite being traded to the Broncos just two seasons ago, there are rumour that the team is already looking to move on from him.

The Las Vegas Raiders, who are in need of a quarterback, have been mentioned as a possible landing spot for Wilson. However, according to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report, it would be surprising if Wilson ended up with the Raiders based on his sources.

Wilson is about to begin his five-year, $242 million contract extension with the Broncos. Trading him would be difficult unless the Broncos are willing to absorb a significant portion of the contract.

Schultz suggests that there is still a possibility that Wilson could remain with the Broncos. If the Broncos were to release him, they would incur an $85 million dead cap hit, which would be a record amount for a team. Despite this, Wilson would likely have several teams interested in signing him as a free agent, though the Raiders may not be one of them.

Wilson, a nine-time Pro Bowler, was once considered one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL. However, his performance has declined since joining the Broncos in 2022. While his statistics have remained respectable, his win-loss record as a starter is 11-19, which is a concern for the Broncos given his high salary of $48.5 million per season.

While a lower salary for Wilson, around $10 million per season, could make him more attractive to a team like the Raiders, it appears that head coach Antonio Pierce may prefer to pursue a younger option. Wilson, at 35 years old, may not be seen as a long-term solution for the Raiders. The situation could change if the Raiders are unable to find a suitable rookie quarterback in the draft, but for now, it seems unlikely that Wilson will end up in Las Vegas.
