Denver Broncos hire new offensive coordinator.
It’s no surprise that Pete Carmichael, the former offensive coordinator for the Saints, is officially joining Sean Payton and the Denver Broncos.
Pete Carmichael served as the offensive coordinator for the New Orleans Saints for 15 seasons, with 13 of those seasons working under former Saints head coach Sean Payton. Payton recently completed his first year as the head coach for the Denver Broncos.
In Denver, Carmichael will take on a slightly different role as a senior offensive assistant. The 52-year-old will be part of the offensive staff led by offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi.
Despite facing criticism in the past two seasons, Carmichael is one of the most experienced offensive coordinators in the NFL. He has also coached several players who now play for Denver, often referred to as “New Orleans West,” including Adam Trautman, Lucas Krull, Dwayne Washington, and Will Lutz.
