After an eight-year tenure in the NFL, Mike Davis has decided to retire ahead of the 2024 season, marking his 31st birthday. His announcement solidifies his departure from the league after being out of action for a full season. Davis last played with the Ravens, joining them in May 2022, but was released in December of the same year. Despite seeking opportunities during the 2023 season, none materialized.
As I turn 31 today, I sit back and look on my NFL career and how thankful I am to be apart of a brotherhood. This game has allowed me to make a lot of friends and memories. I’m grateful for every organization in NFL. With that being said I’m retiring! ✌🏾

Davis began his NFL journey with the 49ers in 2015, but only stayed for two years before moving on to a two-year stint with the Seahawks. It was during his time with the Seahawks in 2018 that Davis experienced his most notable success, recording over 100 carries and impressive production with 514 yards and four touchdowns. Despite this, Davis found himself moving between teams, including the Bears, Panthers, Falcons, and Ravens throughout his career.
His most productive season came in 2020, where he exceeded 1,000 scrimmage yards and scored eight touchdowns, which enhanced his value as a free agent. However, his subsequent move to the Falcons on a two-year, $5.5MM contract did not yield the expected results, leading to his release after just one season.
Davis played a total of 87 NFL games, with a lone postseason appearance during his time with the Seahawks. Throughout his career, he earned approximately $13.3MM. Now shifting his focus to life after football, Davis expressed gratitude for his time in the league, emphasizing the friendships and memories made along the way in his retirement announcement on social media.
